‘Plants vs. Zombies’ undead will be stumbling towards the finish line…in the name of charity (OTHER)

Those taking part in the British 10k Charity Run have an extra incentive to run just a little bit quicker; a hulking mass of rotten meat from ‘Plants Vs. Zombies’ will be joining the good-willed in a bid to raise money…and not hunt the living…hopefully.

Plants vs. Zombies undead will be stumbling towards the finish line...in the name of charity

The 12th annual British 10K takes place in London on Sunday July 8, and the zombie will join over 25,000 runners in a route that will take in some of the world’s most iconic landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben, the London Eye and St Paul’s Cathedral.

Putting aside its fascination for ‘brainz’, the zombie will be shambling through London for charity and is looking for donations from the living, the undead… and yes, even plants. Members of the public can show their support for the zombie by donating through the official JustGiving page atwww.justgiving.com/RunZombieRun or simply texting PVZ099 £2 or PVZ099 £5 to 70070.

Dr. Mick Donegan, Founder, SpecialEffect said:
“It’s fantastic that PopCap is not only raising vital funds and awareness to help SpecialEffect enable disabled young people to enjoy games, but is really getting into the spirit of the event as well. I’m thoroughly looking forward to cheering the zombie from Plants vs. Zombies over the finishing line on the day.”

PopCap’s PvZ zombie said:
“Zombie looking forward to eating you… um… meeting you at the finish line.”

Supporters will be able to keep track of the PopCap® zombie’s progress by following the official Twitter account www.twitter.com/popcapzombie which will be updated with Twitpics during the British 10K. Fans cheering from the sidelines are encouraged to take their own photos of the PopCap zombie and share them using #SpecialEffectPopCapZombie10k
