LEISURE SUIT LARRY IS BACK ON THE PROWL HAVING WON OVER E3 WITH 100% INDIE

Legendary game characters never lose their popularity and 100% Indie has proved that by helping to bring Leisure Suit Larry back to the masses.

Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded was given its Android premier by 100% Indie at E3 as one of 30 Samsung Apps games showcased by the company’s ‘Indie Heroes’ team. They tracked which of the 30 games their visitors chose to play first, as well as which games were played again most often. Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded was the most popular game, being chosen first by 65% per cent of E3’s gamers.

The game’s original creator Al Lowe, who came out of retirement to create the new game, was at the 100% Indie stand to witness Larry’s popularity with his original audience, as well as see him introduced to a whole new generation.

The name of the game is the same – good old Larry is still looking for a bit of action – but ‘Reloaded’ has been rebuilt from the ground up by developer N-Fusion, and published by Replay Games. It seamlessly combines the charm and innuendo of the original series with updated graphics, animations, interface and music. New puzzles, new women and 21st Century content have been added to bring it bang up to date.

“Larry was given such a warm welcome,” says Paul Trowe, president of Replay Games. “We were delighted to work with 100% Indie to get the game live on Samsung Apps and it was great to see a whole new generation of game players enjoy his exploits at E3. Let’s hope Larry is as satisfied as us!”

“As we’re working with indie developers all over the world to help them get published, we see a whole range of raw ideas coming to us, but there are definitely certain types of games or characters that make repeat performances,” says Joe Wee of 100% Indie. “They retain their popularity because they either have a charm or challenge that makes the consumer want to play. Larry has both – we’re all really rooting for him!”
