Prepare to party for Metal Gear Revengeance in a bid to get the game a week early

In a first of its kind for the franchise, Konami is partnering with live marketing agency Come Round to offer 250 people in the UK the chance to receive a pre-ordered copy one week before anyone else in the world, and an opportunity to meet the creator of the Metal Gear series Hideo Kojima.

By agreeing to host a Metal Gear party on Saturday 16th February, gamers will not only receive their advance copy but also an exclusive party pack themed around Metal Gear. Bringing the game’s content to life and helping hosts to start their party with a bang, the packs include custom wristbands, t-shirts and posters plus a plethora of bespoke party props.

Released for PlayStation®3 and Xbox 360® across Europe on February 22nd,METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE takes the renowned Metal Gear franchise into exciting new territory with an all-new action experience unlike anything that has come before. Effortlessly blending pure action and epic storytelling within the Metal Gear universe, METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE uses Raiden as its central character: a child soldier transformed into a half-man, half-machine cyborg ninja, equipped with his signature High-Frequency Blade and fuelled by revenge.

Brian Ayers, PR and Marketing Manager at Konami UK, said; “We’re really excited to reward Metal Gear’s biggest fans with the opportunity to play the franchise’s latest series before anyone else.”

“This is a first for Konami and we really wanted to launch METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE with a bang. As one of the biggest releases of 2013, what better way to welcome Metal Gear back than with a national celebration?”

Giles Harris, Managing Director of Come Round, comments; “Metal Gear has a real cult following and there’s a lot of anticipation which we really wanted to tap into.”

“The parties enable gamers to not only play METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE before anyone else, but also share it with family and friends which I’m sure will make them very popular being the host with the most!”

Gamers can apply to host a METAL GEAR RISING: REVENGEANCE Party viawww.comeround.com/mgr.  250 lucky party hosts will be chosen at random with each receiving their pre-ordered game in advance of everyone else. A minimum of nine guests are required to qualify as a host and applicants are encouraged to read the full terms and conditions found on the online submission form.

Well, after 4 years lurking in the darkest corners of YARS, it's probably about time I updated this profile. I'm Ben, one of the senior editors here, and outside of scribbling on here, editing and finding pwetty pics to put in reviews, I'm studying 'Game Cultures' at uni. That's...that's game development in simpler terms, I don't spend my time analysing pixelated toes to determine whether they're 'art' or not. Anyway, I generally write to either save people money on utter crud or at least make them smile in some wry way with my bitterness and general disdain. If you're not laughing with me, you're laughing at me, and hey, that's progress in my books. 🙂
