Could Activision be remaking Goldeneye?

Activision have registered the domain name goldeneyegame.com – sparking rumours that the N64 classic is up for a remake.

Could Activision be remaking Goldeneye? No other details are currently available, and it could be a case of blocking – buying a domain to stop others using it – as opposed to anything concrete, but most gamers over the age of 21 will likely be salivating at the prospect of a relaunch.

Goldeneye was a game that arguably ushered in a lot of what we expect in todays shooters – a tight plot, varied missions, and excellent controls were the trademark of the Bond shooter. The game is a firm favourite amongst many older gamers, bringing back memories of 4 player deathmatches and fighting over who got to play Oddjob.

Activision have also registered bloodstonegame.com, which is hinted at being the long-awaited Bond racing game HMV name-dropped this week. Apparently, a mistaken posting added the title to the list of upcoming games for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. The page is now removed at HMV, but offered a tantalising glimpse into what may be coming.

More news when we dig some up.
