Hamburg, November 9, 2009 – ROCCAT™, the Hamburg-based manufacturer of professional gaming accessories, launches the ROCCAT™ Arvo Compact Gaming Keyboard – the fourth and final product from its Smart Desktop Management System (SDMS), with that completing the product series. The keyboard’s compact design goes a long way in giving gamers a perfectly organized desktop with loads of space. The ROCCAT™ Arvo, with its built-in metal plate, is the world’s first keyboard to feature a gaming mode function integrated into the numpad. The three thumbster keys with macro and practical timer functions are just as unique. These allow essential in-game functions such as ‘attack spells’ or ‘weapon reload’ to be executed comfortably at the press of the thumb. And if that isn’t enough: the multi award-winning macro and profile manager that comes with the ROCCAT™ Kone Max Customization Gaming Mouse and ROCCAT™ Valo Max Customization Gaming Keyboard is also included with the ROCCAT™ Arvo Compact Gaming Keyboard.
Size matters
As part of the ROCCAT™ Smart Desktop Management System, the ROCCAT™ Arvo only has a tiny footprint compared to other standard keyboards. The idea behind the SDMS of creating space, order and efficiency is reflected in the keyboard’s compact design. As a result, neither the mousepad nor mouse will get in your way during gaming – plus optimum use is made of the desktop gaming zone. The Arvo is perfect even for arrow key gamers, who prefer to position their keyboards diagonally to the monitor and mousepad, as it doesn’t collide with the monitor or hang over the edge of the desk like other keyboards do. Numpad and arrow keys united in perfect harmony The compact design has been made possible simply by combining the numpad and arrow- key pad. The ROCCAT™ Arvo’s dual-assignment numpad means the keyboard takes up considerably less space while at the same time retaining all the functions you’d find on a standard keyboard. It’s easy to switch between normal and gaming mode simply by pressing the mode switch button. In gaming mode, it’s not just the arrow keys and two macro keys that are active; the remaining function keys such as Delete and Page Up/Down are active too. What’s more, the arrow keys are illuminated when in gaming mode – the blue glow is especially useful when gaming in the dark. If the Mode button is lit blue, gaming mode is deactivated and normal numpad mode is activated allowing you to use each numeric key as normal.
Unique thumbster keys
Three unique macro keys are positioned beneath the spacebar which increases the opportunity to use the thumb during gaming. The three thumbster keys can be individually programmed. For instance, macro functions or essential in-game functions such as ‘attack spells’ or ‘weapon reload’ can be conveniently assigned to the thumbsters. Another unique function is the ROCCAT™ Timer which allows the time it takes for special items to reappear to be timed to perfection in many games. In contrast to standard keyboards, the LED has been integrated directly into the Caps Lock key, making it really easy to see if Caps Lock mode is on – when deactivated, the light goes out again.
Perfect keystroke
It’s not just its compact design that makes the ROCCAT™ Arvo the perfect gaming keyboard. It also has an unusually positive keystroke. Because of their optimum height, keys can be pressed with particular precision. Being of medium height means they’re not just comfortable for typing; they also offer a perfect pressure point. Rugged construction thanks to integrated metal plate The Arvo is as good as indestructible thanks to the integrated metal plate. It forgives those little temper tantrums during gaming, and the thump on the edge of the desk that frequently ensues, without so much as a murmur. The rugged metal plate and the high quality construction also mean it’s perfectly weighted and therefore exceptionally stable. The perfect gaming height can also be achieved by folding out the lock-on keyboard legs. And thanks to the non-slip coating, the legs cling to any surface like little suction cups.
Tried and tested Macro Manager
Never change an award-winning system – just like the ROCCAT™ Kone Max Customization Gaming Mouse and ROCCAT™ Valo Max Customization Gaming Keyboard, the ROCCAT™ Arvo also comes with our sophisticated yet easy-to-use software. Using the driver interface command sequences can be programmed, edited or saved. The keyboard offers five macro keys altogether. Numerous preconfigured functions are available for each key – including loads of macro sets for games. Thanks to the clear system of being able to store macros in five profiles, macros can be assigned to different games or even game characters. Among other things, a profile can also be linked to a game which means the relevant key assignment is automatically loaded when the game starts. Deactivate individual keys Chances are you’ve probably found yourself accidentally pressing the Windows, Context Menu, Caps Lock or Tab key. Sometimes this has disastrous consequences and you can for instance find yourself being thrown back to the Desktop in heated gaming situations. This is no longer a problem as you can use the software to deactivate and reactivate keys as you wish – even individually.

With the ROCCAT™ Smart Desktop Management System (SDMS), the Studios are presenting an innovative concept which allows the typical gamer desktop to be organized perfectly.
