All hail The Lords of Nature!Konami brings best-selling Gormiti license to Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS
Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has released details of its first video games based on the hugely popular Gormiti IP. Provisionally entitled Gormiti: The Lords of Nature Return, the game will be released for Wii and Nintendo DS formats in 2010.

The original Gormiti range of toys are figurines featuring creatures from five tribes: Forest, Air, Sea, Earth and Volcano. Following their massive success, the franchise has since been recreated in the form of an epic 52-episode animated TV series, and the Gormiti: The Lords of Nature Return (tentative title) game takes its basis from this.

The show follows four kids as they discover an alternate dimension called the Gorm – a parallel world inhabited by the Gormiti creatures. When Gorm is endangered, so is Earth, so the kids transform into their Gormiti alter-egos to protect both worlds. The show has been broadcast in Italy since 2008, and will hit French, UK, German, Turkish and Greek screens soon. Konami’s Gormiti: The Lords of Nature Return (tentative title) shares many elements, with stunning visual environments brought to life as the kids assume their Gormiti forms.

As in the show, players unite four of the five Gormiti species in an ongoing battle against the deadly Fire Mountain species, and players are charged with using the attributes of the others to free their homeworld from tyranny. Gormiti: The Lords of Nature Return (tentative title) is set across the beautifully illustrated land of Venture Falls from the show, where the Lords of Earth, Sea, Air and Forest are charged with visiting Gorm and stopping the evil Magmion from wreaking more havoc.

The game world features a wealth of recgonisable landmarks from the TV series, as players directly control three of the Lords of Nature within a group. Using the individual skills of each of the Lords, players can battle Magmiom’s minions using melee, ‘Super’ attacks, or powerful long-ranged moves, and can switch between their various skills with ease. Gameplay is enhanced with puzzles and obstacles that must be overcome using the group of 3 Lords currently at the player’s disposal. Likewise, Gorm is inhabited by a wide range of useful potential allies, who can be coerced into providing help, support and valuable information as the party head towards Magmion’s volcanic lair.
