Ninja Gaiden 2 Review (360)

It’s not the gore, It’s how they use it against you.

Ninja Gaiden 2 made by The Ninja Team Rated 18+ is not for the faint hearted. The gore mixed with graphics provide the mix to make the game what it was originally about: A ninja killing everything. Well… Ninja Gaiden 2 has a relatively futuristic background as it is set in the futuristic Era and things are a bit different to the 21st century. The Black spider clan and a few supernatural fiends have taken over the world.

You start the game as Ryu Hayabusa, A Ninja who dosent take no for an answer. Seeking vengeance, Ryu Hayabusa takes flight in search of the Black Spider clan but also crosses paths with the supernatural fiends threating the world. An action packed gore fest!

“when the going gets tough, Ninja Gaiden 2 provides tougher.”

The gameplay sets a different way of button smashing but no way will it change the way you think about button smashers! its good but not quite a perfect button smasher yet. The levels are a bit repetitive but by no means does it destroy the fun of the game – it’s all about the fun of destroying your enemies. With an array of weapons you will not get bored of the 14 long chapters! The only bad point is the difficulty settings. A normal game on hard is Ninja Gaiden on easy. so working up the difficulties is highly recommended as you will not survive.

Ninja Gaiden 2 has breath-taking graphics and effects as if you were seeing that guy’s head being sliced off. Ninja Gaiden 2Every inch is equally as breath-taking and every chapter the graphics continue to impress! Ninja Gaiden 2 does have amazing graphical quality but should not be bought just because of the quality of the effects and graphics, because good games are made up of all 3 qualities, but the graphics are definitely something to keep in mind.

The sound is not superb but really adds to the tension when approaching boss battles and supernatural fiends. The sound effects are 10/10 as you can hear every slash and every scream. The downfall is that the sound is not used nearly as much as other games intend to use it and that could have made the game a lot more interesting instead of having silent moments. Then again, who knows what will happen in those dark, silent moments?

Overall Ninja Gaiden 2 is a great button smasher and a unique idea crossing futuristic fighting with modern weapons. It’s not just a Blood Bath…

The Good: Eye-popping graphics and effects that put you inside the game. The gameplay is effective and different but constantly challenges your button smashing abilities. Controls are unique but range from simple to complex.
The Bad: The sound is not used nearly enough and is sometimes needed in important parts of the game. The difficulties are amazingly hard and starting on easy is recommended.
