Atari today announced the European launch of eagerly awaited flight action title Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation for the Xbox 360? video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Published by NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe and distributed in the PAL territories by Atari, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation is the latest and greatest in the celebrated Ace Combat series and the only flight action game on the market this Christmas for the console.
Having recently clocked up over one million demo downloads via the Xbox Live� online game service, gamers can now get their hands on the controls of the full game in all its high flying glory. Boasting dazzling photorealistic graphics and a fearsome airborne arsenal rendered in exacting detail, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation takes the dogfight online for the first time in the series’ history, with up to 16 players taking to the skies via the Xbox Live� online game service.

In Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation players engage enemies in the land, sea and air across massive living battlefields in a bid to turn the tide of a war tearing the country of Emmeria apart. New battle systems let players fight tackle multiple fronts objectives, calling on reinforcements to help unleash their full military might on the opposition. The game features a straightforward control system which lets any player take to the air with confidence as soon as they’re cleared for take off. The added option to choose more simulation-style controls makes the game perfectly suited to hardcore and casual gamers alike.
Players can unlock and upgrade 15 faithfully rendered licensed aircraft, choosing from the world’s most advanced and fearsome fighter jets to accomplish air-to-air and ground support missions. In a first for the series, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation introduces online competitive and cooperative dogfights via Xbox Live for up to 16 players.
