Eurogamer, Europe’s leading independent games media specialist, is delighted to announce that the Eurogamer Expo Indie Arcade will return this year and is presented by SEGA and in association with Rock Paper Shotgun.
More than a dozen of the finest independently developed games will be selected and showcased for tens of thousands of gamers at the Eurogamer Expo Indie Arcade, and submissions for 2011 are now open.
“The response to the Indie Arcade for at previous Eurogamer Expos has been phenomenal, both from developers and Expo visitors,” said David Hayward, organiser of the Eurogamer Expo Indie Arcade.
“We had well over a hundred submissions to choose from last year, and with independent development going from strength to strength we’re expecting many more this time.”
Now entering its fourth year, the Eurogamer Expo Indie Arcade is the biggest and longest established public showing of independently developed games in the UK.
David Lilley, Business Development Manager for Eurogamer, added: “”We’re immensely proud to host the Indie Arcade, and it’s great to be in partnership with a publisher as strong as SEGA.
“The arcade highlights some very different and offbeat games right next to the blockbuster titles that so many gamers come to the Eurogamer Expo to see. Video games are such a broad church now, and the Expo really reflects that.”
In previous years the Eurogamer Expo Indie Arcade has hosted the public debuts of Joe Danger and Hohokum, as well as showing many other amazing titles such as Nidhogg, B.U.T.T.O.N. and VVVVVV.
Submissions are open until 19th August, after which the full selection of games will be finalised and announced. It costs nothing for game developers to submit or to exhibit if selected.
