Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have today announced F.E.A.R. 3 is coming for the PS3, 360 and PC this autumn. Second sequel to the frightening-yet-bland original shooter, F.E.A.R. 3 is expected to continue the tale of scary ghost-woman Alma, and is listed to feature as main protagonists Point Man (star of the original game) and Paxton Fettel, her two sons.
Seeing as Fettel dies in the first game, we are expecting some kind of clone (the ending of the F.E.A.R. 2 expansion pack hinted at this). Both characters are reportedly playable, and a co-op mode is being introduced for the first time.
According to the press release, Monolith Studios will not be handling development. Instead, Day 1 Studios are taking up the reins, and reportedly are consulting with cult horror director John Carpenter.
“Players can look forward to new features such as divergent co-op, an evolved cover system, and more scares in F.E.A.R. 3,” said Denny Thorley, founder and president of Day 1 Studios.
Lets hope they avoid the repetition of the first game, and the quite-frankly terrible ending of the second, and we could be in for a huge treat.
