F.E.A.R. 3 announced today

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have today announced F.E.A.R. 3 is coming for the PS3, 360 and PC this autumn. Second sequel to the frightening-yet-bland original shooter, F.E.A.R. 3 is expected to continue the tale of scary ghost-woman Alma, and is listed to feature as main protagonists Point Man (star of the original game) and Paxton Fettel, her two sons.

F.E.A.R. 3 announced todaySeeing as Fettel dies in the first game, we are expecting some kind of clone (the ending of the F.E.A.R. 2 expansion pack hinted at this). Both characters are reportedly playable, and a co-op mode is being introduced for the first time.

According to the press release, Monolith Studios will not be handling development. Instead, Day 1 Studios are taking up the reins, and reportedly are consulting with cult horror director John Carpenter.

“Players can look forward to new features such as divergent co-op, an evolved cover system, and more scares in F.E.A.R. 3,” said Denny Thorley, founder and president of Day 1 Studios.

Lets hope they avoid the repetition of the first game, and the quite-frankly terrible ending of the second, and we could be in for a huge treat.
