Gore Please
I bought this game. Knowing it has very poor review scores, mostly below 5 /10. I paid 39.99 for it so why would I do that?
Instinct told me I would love this game like I love the earlier games in the series.
I don’t want to think, I just want to kill stuff.
Reading comments like, it’s too easy, poor level design, poor AI, poor storyline, these are all true but do not spoil the experience.
I bought it, not expecting a Call of Duty 4, or Medal Of Honor Airbourne , this is different.
What I like about it is firstly the gore, blowing limbs of enemies, shooting an enemy in the leg and watching him die of blood loss, as sick as it sounds it is fun.
I like the fact it’s easy, you don’t have to think much, just shoot things that move towards you.
I like the way the AI enemies often choose to charge at you to hit you with the butt of their gun in preference to shooting you, I like the fact your player can take more bullets than superman.
I like the unchallenging level design, there is only one route to the end, kill all that moves on the way and you done.
Ok so this all makes for a more dumbed down game experience, but sometimes I don’t want a challenge, I don’t want to think, I just want to kill stuff. This game delivers with that in buckets!
The Graphics are pretty, nothing special but it does not look ugly, although on some desert levels the lighting is way too bright.
The Sound effects of the guns are amazing, unrealistic but so what. A 9mm sounds like a Nuclear Bomb? awesome.
Online Multilayer offers more lastaibilty with the game (after all, as much as I love blowing limbs off people it does get old after a few plays).
There are on the most basic multiplayer modes, team death match etc and five maps but at least it is there.
Think of this game as more of an arcade FPS, like house of the dead but you can move around freely.
If you are wanting a game with an engaging storyline, super graphics, challenging and varied game play then buy Call Of Duty 4, if you want to let some aggression out by blowing people up, some mindless fun shooting to wind down with, buy this!
