The Review
I'm going to start by saying I have had to really push myself to review the last couple of Sam & Max episodes; I feel really I have summed the series up already. The games have all been good, telltale have made them last longer, and they are generally more challenging to complete. One would assume that after almost two years, it would be hard for telltale to keep coming out with original plots using only the existing characters right? Wrong! I can honestly say that this particular episode is one of the most original yet, but also one of the most off the wall.
This is one for regular players who have been following the seriesThe game starts out with Sam, Max and Flint Paper investigating the disappearance of Bosco. This quickly leads to Sam and Max being abducted by 'aliens',sending them on a mission through time to try and rescue their friend and take him back to earth.
There is no point in me reviewing the graphics and sound in this episode, as anyone familiar with the series should know what to expect by now.
As I have already mentioned, this game is one of the most unusual yet. This brings a lot of opportunity for comedy with it, and I will admit that I enjoyed this episode much more than the previous one. The only problem that I could possibly find in this episode is that the plot becomes very convoluted and difficult to understand, especially towards the end of the episode.
I don't really feel that there is an awful lot more I can say about this episode, it is well executed, funny, original and interesting. The only downfall it really has Is that you may have to play it a couple of times to fully grasp the plot towards the end, although saying that, I managed to get it the first time around. This is one for regular players who have been following the series, as it will seem very complex and probably make absolutely no sense to first time players.
