Booth Babes - Good or Bad for the Industry

Postby daverage » Sat Sep 29, 2012 12:12 pm

I went to Eurogamer on Thursday - and it was brilliant. The only thing that left a slightly sour taste in my mouth was the inclusion of Booth Babes by Virgin Games. What was so wrong about it was what they had printed on their behinds (on very very small hotpants). On one cheek they had a QR code to scan - on the other they had Play for Money.

It wasn't just me that felt this was not on, they had rather a lot of complaints about it.

My question is, has the games industry not moved past this??

What do you all think?

Bit of a late reply, but that seems rather over the top. As much as I like looking at pretty ladies, I don't think it's a great image for the industry. Gaming is often seen as a male pursuit anyway, shouldn't we be getting away from this and trying to entice all ages and sexes?
