Apparently, due to EU fans "enthusiasm for Alan Wake" (quoted from David Gosen, EU PR VP for Microsoft), Microsoft have brought forward the EU release date by a week to May 14th.
In a further related news snippet, Oskari Hakkinen (head of Franchise development for Remedy) discussed the future of the game, and DLC, by stating that he thought of Alan Wake being a "Season 1" of sorts. He also revealed the following in an Edge interview:
"We've thought of DLC, which will be more of a bridge between season one and season two, should this first part be a success. You can think of the DLC as a Christmas special, something that will give you a different perspective on the stuff you've seen in season one."
"Alan Wake" is a psychological thriller developed by Remedy, the prestigious studio creator of the series "Max Payne." In this game exclusive to Xbox 360, players step into the shoes of a famous thriller writer. After suffering a severe writer´s block, Alan travels to a small town for inspiration. However, his wife disappears under mysterious circumstances, forcing Alan to confront his demons.
"Alan Wake" reinvents the format of the horror game with a story full of suspense and mystery, in which our hero will discover at every step that nothing is as it seems. Needless to say, we are all very, very excited.
