Walking Dead Season 2: A House Divided Review

TellTale continue to surprise me. I was left a little disappointed by the last episode of Wolf Among us, due to the vast number of technical issues I experienced, so when I started the latest episode of Walking Dead – my expectations where unusually low. I am not ashamed to admit that the Walking Dead games have been my favourite games in YEARS, however as they have progressed without any real updates to the bugs, I have been losing my enthusiasm.

Well, I am really pleased to say that A House Divided has renewed every ounce of my enthusiasm for the series. Through the whole episode I found no bugs or glitches. Loading was acceptable, animations and voices all synced nicely and there was no graphics glitches that tore me out of the world of the Walking Dead.

Walking Dead House DividedI can’t say much about the episode without giving away the plot – which is frustrating as a reviewer! However, I can say that this is by far the best one yet – even better than the later episodes of season 1. With its mix of well written dialogue, occasional and well paced quick time action based sequences you never feel bored or like you are just watching an episode of the show.  The story is building up to be something truly special in video games, with every decision feeling even more important than ever.

The choices you make in these games have always been important, but this time they are critical and there is no black and white obvious answers either. At times the repercussions of your choices are immediate and very very harsh! TellTale have once again shown their understanding of the grey areas that surround real moral decisions.

Yes this is a short review – I don’t want you wasting time reading it. What you need to do is go and get The Walking Dead: A House Divided and discover what real story telling in video games is all about. 5/5 may seem high, but for what this is and for the way it left me feeling – this is a well deserved score.

Now go and sort out the Wolf Among Us!!!
